The landlord was a drug user. Before signing lease, landlord said my son could live with me. After I paid/signed lease, the landlord met my son when we moved in. My son's skin color is darker than mine. Landlord did not want my son there. During my residency, we caught landlord peeping in bedroom windows twice. He smelled of Marijuana and slurred his speech almost each time I spoke with him through the entire year. The landlord pressured me multiple times over approximately 8 months to commit felonies for him. I refused. In May, 2025 I asked if my older son, who recently graduated college, could live with me. New York law permits 2 people per bedroom and 80sq ft per person. The landlord wanted to raise my rent 33%. He asked if my sons wanted to rent his downstairs unit and I refused since there was no need to pay $3,000 per month. Landlord refused to allow my son to live with me and immediately pressured me again to commit felony crimes for him. I refused and did not renew my lease.
